Each year, the American College of Healthcare Executives of New Jersey (ACHENJ) bestows its Distinguished Service Award on an outstanding leader who has made significant contributions to health care within and/or without the state of New Jersey. The Award is presented at ACHENJ's Annual Meeting in November.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates include business leaders, clinicians, community volunteers, educators, health care administrators, legislators, and researchers. Membership in ACHE is not required.
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing healthcare in New Jersey and beyond. Recipients of this prestigious honor have made lasting contributions through their leadership, innovation, service to the community, and dedication to improving the health and well-being of the populations they serve.
Nomination Process
Nominations may be submitted by any ACHE-NJ member or healthcare professional familiar with the nominee's work and contributions. The nomination package should include:
A formal letter of nomination that describes the nominee's contributions to healthcare, including specific examples of leadership, innovation, or service that distinguish the candidate as worthy of this recognition.
Curriculum vitae or resume of the nominee, highlighting relevant professional experience, achievements, and community involvement.
Supporting letters from colleagues, peers, or community members who can speak to the nominee's impact and qualifications (optional but encouraged).
All nomination materials should be submitted to the ACHE-NJ Awards Committee by the specified deadline. The committee carefully reviews all submissions and selects the recipient based on the strength of the nomination and the candidate's demonstrated excellence in healthcare leadership and service.
Past Recipients
The Distinguished Service Award has been presented to many extraordinary healthcare leaders over the years, each of whom has left an indelible mark on the healthcare landscape in New Jersey. Past recipients include hospital executives, physician leaders, public health officials, educators, and community advocates whose vision and dedication have improved healthcare delivery, access, and outcomes for countless individuals.
We encourage you to nominate a deserving colleague or leader whose contributions exemplify the values of excellence, innovation, and service that define the healthcare profession.
