The 2021 Fall Congress was held at Biaggio's Restaurant, 299 Paramus Rd, Paramus NJ, from 8am to 4:30pm. This full-day educational event offered 6 ACHE Educational Credits and brought together healthcare leaders for a comprehensive program on critical topics facing the industry.

The Fall Congress remains one of ACHE-NJ's signature annual events, providing healthcare professionals with opportunities to earn continuing education credits while engaging with cutting-edge content and networking with peers from across New Jersey. The 2021 program featured four sessions designed to address the evolving challenges and opportunities in healthcare leadership.

Educational Program

The day's agenda covered four major topic areas, each carefully selected to provide practical insights that attendees could apply in their organizations:

1. On the Executive Track: Leading People Who are More Experienced Than You (1.5 F2F Credits)
This session addressed one of healthcare leadership's most common yet challenging scenarios: managing and leading individuals with more experience, tenure, or technical expertise. The presentation explored strategies for building credibility, earning respect, and effectively leading teams where you may not be the most experienced person in the room. This topic is particularly relevant for early- and mid-career healthcare leaders navigating their first executive roles.

2. Reinventing Customer Service in Healthcare: Lessons Learned from the Best (1.5 Qualified Credit)
Patient experience and customer service have become central to healthcare quality and organizational success. This session examined how leading healthcare organizations have transformed their approach to service excellence, drawing lessons from both within and outside the healthcare industry. Attendees learned practical strategies for creating patient-centered cultures and delivering exceptional experiences at every touchpoint.

3. Physician-Hospital Integration in the 21st Century (1.5 F2F Credits)
The relationship between hospitals and physicians continues to evolve as healthcare shifts toward value-based care and integrated delivery models. This session explored contemporary approaches to physician-hospital alignment, including employment models, clinically integrated networks, and governance structures that support collaboration and shared accountability for quality and outcomes.

4. Implementing Strategic Plans for Successful Operations (1.5 F2F Credits)
Strategic planning is essential, but successful execution often proves elusive. This closing session focused on the critical transition from strategic planning to operational implementation, offering frameworks and tools for translating vision into action, maintaining accountability, and measuring progress toward strategic goals.
